We are preparing liquidsoap 1.0. Several major changes, still at the design discussion stage, are planned:
- heterogeneous source content
- statically checked time zones
- factorized buffering/conversions
- re-design of queued request sources
- discussion about fallibility
- server interface?
We have several dead subprojects that have been dead for long or not so long. Each of them could be re-awakened for good if anyone is interested. These projects involve:
- a website (was meant for listeners, but could also be for admins)
- an IRC bot
- Soaplab (still in trunk, but untouched for a while): an Integrated Automation System ( http://savonet.sourceforge.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=IntegratedAutomationSystem)
- a Scheduler
Ideas that are still to be implemented:
- a Dia sheet for simple/graph-like liquidsoap scripts, with an export to .liq
- heterogeneous formats: heterogeneous audio, but also video, and maybe even...
- shared encoding: do more on encoded data, notably share the encoding of (locally) identical streams, maybe more..
- Support for udp/rtp output, compatible with vlc streaming format (see #22)
- Support for SPIP phones as streams (see #125)
- Gstreamer support for both input and output (see #80)
- Custom raw format for communication between two liquidsoaps (see #21). May be superseeded using jack..
